HidroAysén Begins investigation to determine circumstances in which a truck overturned on board ship

An investigation by the Maritime Management was initiated to determine the circumstances in which overturned a truck was transported on board Amadeo.

The Commission Local Vessel Inspection (CLIN) of the Navy, is the institution that investigates the overturning of a truck on board Amadeo, Navimag company, on the road between Puerto Natales and Puerto Montt, following which saw the death of livestock being transported on the ship.

This was stated by the Captain of the Port of Puerto Montt, Ricardo Concha, who said the investigation began before unloading the vessel and determine why unlashing technically the truck and if lashing system (or secure cargo to the ship) was in the right conditions and meet the standard.

For who would have the responsibility for operation of Amadeo, naval authority said it was the ship's captain responsible for clarifying that responsibility is not guilty. Shell added that can not be ruled out any hypothesis about the circumstances that allowed the rollover of the truck.

The Captain of the Port completed research indicating that this technique does not have a specific date of termination, but the ratchet system the ship had been approved in the annual review and the process will also include the actions of the crew.
